Privacy Policy

Effective date: 21 June 2026
App: Good Hours
Website: https://good-hours.com/
Contact: goodhours.contact@gmail.com

Good Hours is a private memory app that helps you save real-life moments worth remembering.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Good Hours handles, how it is used, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Good Hours is the app and service made available under the Good Hours brand.

For privacy questions, support requests, or data-related enquiries, you can contact us at:

goodhours.contact@gmail.com

2. What Good Hours does

Good Hours helps you keep a private record of meaningful offline moments, such as meals, walks, conversations, reading, creating, rest, and time spent with people you care about.

Good Hours is designed as a local-first app. In the current version, your core Good Hours data is stored on your device unless we clearly introduce a future sync, account, or backup feature.

3. Information you provide in the app

Good Hours may store the following information locally on your device:

  • saved moments;
  • moment categories;
  • dates and durations;
  • people names or tags you add;
  • reflections, comments, notes, or answers to memory questions;
  • your preferred name, if you choose to provide one;
  • weekly recap information generated from your saved moments;
  • notification preferences;
  • app settings;
  • locally generated app insight data.

This information is used to provide the Good Hours experience, including showing your saved moments, helping you remember who was part of your real life, creating weekly recaps, and personalizing the app.

You do not need to create an account to use the current version of Good Hours.

4. Information we do not intentionally collect

Good Hours does not intentionally send the content of your private moments, reflections, comments, memory answers, people names, or preferred name to analytics tools.

Good Hours does not sell your personal data.

Good Hours does not use your saved moments or reflections for advertising.

Good Hours does not access your contacts, calendar, microphone, camera, or precise location in the current version.

5. Analytics

Good Hours may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand how the app is used and improve the product.

Analytics may include non-content events such as:

  • onboarding completed;
  • moment saved;
  • reminder permission accepted or declined;
  • weekly recap opened;
  • export or delete-data action started;
  • feature usage counts;
  • general app interaction events.

Analytics should not include the text of your reflections, comments, memory answers, people names, or preferred name.

Analytics helps us understand whether Good Hours is useful, where users get stuck, and how to improve the app.

6. Crash reporting and diagnostics

Good Hours may use crash reporting tools to identify bugs and improve app stability.

Crash reports may include technical information such as:

  • device model;
  • operating system version;
  • app version;
  • crash logs;
  • technical diagnostic data.

We aim to avoid sending personal content such as reflection text, memory notes, comments, people names, or preferred names in crash reports.

7. Photos permission

Good Hours may ask for permission to save recap cards or memory images to your photo library.

This permission is used only to save content you choose to export or save.

Good Hours does not scan, import, or analyze your photo library in the current version.

8. Notifications permission

Good Hours may ask for permission to send quiet reminders.

Notifications are used to remind you to save or reflect on moments worth remembering.

You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

9. Local storage and data loss

In the current version, your core Good Hours data is stored locally on your device.

This means:

  • your saved moments are stored on the device where you use Good Hours;
  • deleting the app may delete your Good Hours data;
  • resetting or losing your device may delete your Good Hours data;
  • we may not be able to recover local data if it is deleted;
  • your data is not automatically synced across devices unless a future sync feature is introduced.

10. Data export

Good Hours may provide an export feature in Settings.

The export may include your saved moments, reflections, people tags, preferences, prompts, generated app data, and other Good Hours data stored locally on your device.

You are responsible for where you save, store, or share exported files.

11. Data deletion

Good Hours may provide a “Delete My Good Hours Data” option in Settings.

When you use this option, the app is intended to clear locally stored Good Hours data and cancel scheduled reminders.

This may include:

  • saved moments;
  • reflections;
  • comments;
  • memory answers;
  • people tags;
  • prompts;
  • generated app insight data;
  • notification preferences;
  • preferred name;
  • other local Good Hours settings and records.

You can also delete the app from your device, although the exact effect on local data may depend on your device and operating system.

12. Third-party services

Good Hours may use third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, diagnostics, app distribution, and infrastructure.

These may include:

  • analytics providers;
  • crash reporting providers;
  • Apple services used for iOS distribution, TestFlight, App Store, notifications, and permissions.

Where Good Hours uses third-party services, we aim to limit the data shared with them and require them to protect data in a way consistent with this Privacy Policy.

13. Legal basis for processing

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on different bases depending on the situation.

For data stored locally to provide the app’s core features, processing may be necessary to provide the service you request.

For optional permissions such as notifications or saving to Photos, we rely on your permission and device settings.

For analytics and diagnostics, we may rely on consent where required, or legitimate interests in understanding and improving Good Hours, provided this does not override your rights and freedoms.

14. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or receive a copy of your data.

For the current local-first version, most Good Hours data is stored on your device and can be exported or deleted from Settings.

You can contact us at goodhours.contact@gmail.com if you have questions about your data.

If you are in the United Kingdom and are unhappy with how your personal data is handled, you may have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

15. Children

Good Hours is not intended for children under 13 or for anyone below the minimum age required in their country or region.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through Good Hours, contact us at goodhours.contact@gmail.com.

16. International use

Good Hours may be available in different countries.

If third-party services process technical or analytics data outside your country, we aim to rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Good Hours evolves.

If we make significant changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify users in the app or on the website.
